Church Garage Sale August 12-14

The annual Garage and Bake Sale at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 605 Madison St. in Marshall, will be held on Thursday, Aug 12 and Friday, Aug 13 from 8-5:00 p.m. and on Saturday, Aug 14 from 8-3:00 p.m. The usual great collection of items of value will be on display. Also, a Parking Lot Brat Fry will be available from 10-2 pm each day. Help empty the display tables on Saturday when prices will be ½ off.

Mark your calendars for this wonderful coming-together of community and resources to benefit our church! The pandemic year didn't stop us and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever, plus the popular BRAT FRY will be back! You may bring in your gently used items anytime during office hours (M-Th, 9 am-12 noon) or Sunday mornings. All items donated must be in good condition. If you are doing your spring cleaning and have items to donate, you may bring them to the last classroom on the right across from the nursery.

We encourage you to donate small furniture items and household items, but not clothing. Our church cannot accept these items: mattresses or box springs, TVs, sofa sleepers or reclining sofas, entertainment centers, futons, exercise equipment, baby items, such as car seats, cribs and walkers, large appliances or exercise equipment, hazardous or construction materials, and items that are prohibitively large and heavy that are difficult to safely handle (i.e., very large furniture pieces). Persons who donate may obtain a receipt that will verify a charitable donation for income tax purposes.

Parking Lot Brat Fry: The planners for the brat fry are also gearing up for this great added feature of our fundraiser that will happen every day of the garage sale. Laurine Martin and her committee have a tasty list of food items that will be available in the food tent. There will be individual food items like brats, chips, drinks, homemade cookies and a “meal deal”. Laurine would like names of people who will provide homemade cookies for each day of the brat fry. You may call or text Laurine at 608-712-4069.

In the weeks ahead, you will see sign-up sheets for volunteer workers at the church. A snappy, revised flyer advertising this event will be available at the church as well. Please take a few flyers and share them with family, friends, and the community. We ask all of our members to promote and support this important fundraiser in some way. A planning meeting is tentatively set for Monday, July 19th at 6:30 PM at the church; please come and join us. If you would like to take on a task that you can do at home, contact one of the planners.
