WOMEN OF THE ELCA (WELCA)
Holy Trinity is blessed to have a lively, active WELCA group.
All women are welcome to participate. Bring a friend!
Here at Holy Trinity, the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America strives to enhance the spiritual life of its members as it commits to projects and activities that benefit the church and the broader community. It is open to women of all ages who are members or friends of Holy Trinity.
WELCA meets the second Tuesday of the month in the Fellowship Hall at 1 p.m. Fellowship is enjoyed throughout the afternoon that starts with dessert provided by our hostess of the month and is followed by the Bible Study taken from Gather, the magazine of the Women of the ELCA. The business portion of our meeting is usually last. During the year, we vary the routine by starting our meetings with a potluck lunch in February and December, and a summer potluck picnic. In April, it’s “out for lunch” when we gather at a local restaurant for a mostly social meeting. Please join us at one of our meetings and consider becoming a member!
Among its many ministries, members of WELCA prepare quilts throughout the year for shipment through Lutheran World Relief to those in need around the world . They also purchase supplies for 15 school kits that are distributed to children around the world by Lutheran World Relief. Anyone can support this ministry by joining us on the 3rd Tuesday each month at 1:00 pm at the church. Or, donate new fabric, new and used sheets and other large pieces of fabric.
